Meet Our Staff

I have been with First State Chevrolet since 1990 when I started in Sales. I then became the Pre-Owned Sales Manager for 14 years. In January, 2015, I became the General Manager in charge of fixed operations. I am a 1990 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. I was a member of the golf team for four years while at Penn State. I am a former president of Georgetown Little League from 2007-2008. I live in Georgetown with my wife Tammy and our two boys, Brent and Blaine. Brent is a graduate of Northwood University in Michigan and is working with us here at First State Chevy as our Pre-Owned Vehicle Manager and Blaine is a graduate of Shenandoah University School of Business and is currently working here as a Sales Professional.

I began my career as a District Manager for Oldsmobile after graduating from Michigan State University. In 1974 I bought in as co-owner to Theodore Burton Jr. and Company in our old location on Market Street in Georgetown. I have been fortunate to see our Dealership grow and in 1990 my business partner Lee Turek and I moved our franchise to it's current location on Route 113. I am retired, but remain co-owner with Bill and serve in an advisory role. I am an avid golfer and enjoy spending time at our Michigan lake home in the Summer.

I graduated from Dover High School in 1993. I am married to my lovely wife Kim and we have three boys, Nicholas, Matthew, and Jacob. I have been in the fire service for 35 years and am currently Georgetown Fire Chief. I have been a board member for the Georgetown Little League for 25 years and have been in car sales for 25 years now. Just remember, we are the dealership that puts you, the customer, first!

Hi! My name is Laura. I was born in Troy, Michigan and moved to Seaford, Delaware in 2002 when my dad retired from General Motors. I attended Del-Tech Community College before transferring and completing my Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology: Health & Physical Education at Liberty University in May 2016. I started working here at First State Chevy as a Sales Professional in November 2016. I was the Internet Sales Manager from 2017 until June of 2025. I have two dogs: a Shepherd/Lab mix Colby and a Chocolate Lab Callie. In my spare time I enjoy baking & cooking, drinking coffee, going to the gym & CrossFit, and spoiling my nephew & niece.

Hi, my name is Butch Wingate, I was born and raised in Georgetown. Graduated from Sussex Central Sr. High School in 1979. I now reside in Laurel DE with my wife Barbara. I am also a S.A.L member of Laurel American Legion Post #19. I have been in some kind of Sales most my life from advertising to RV's. I look forward to serving you, the customer first!

I was born and raised in Sussex County. I graduated from Sussex Central High School in 2015 and graduated from Northwood University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Automotive Marketing and Management. I enjoy baseball, snowboarding, golfing, and fishing. I am an avid car enthusiast and can't wait to earn your business!

I have been working for 1st State Chevy since 1981 in the collision center. I became manager in 1989. My family and I have been involved with the Pop Warner youth football program since 1995, where we enjoy helping young people in our community. I also enjoy hunting and spending time with my family.

Hi, my name is Michelle. I am the Tow Manager here at First State Chevy. I am a 2000 graduate of Indian River High School. I currently live in Laurel with my husband James and our two boys Ryan and Dylan. In my spare time I enjoy reading, going to the beach, and spending time with my family and our two dogs Roman and Winnie. I have been in the auto industry for over 11 years and love the family atmosphere here at First State. I look forward to helping you with all your towing needs.

Hi, my name is Sheila and I'm the receptionist and cashier here at 1st State Chevrolet! I grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford Senior High School. I have previous experience working at car dealerships. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother to my beautiful grandbabies Abigail Rose, Arya Ruby, and Cole Thomas. We enjoy traveling, going to the beach, swimming, and doing crafts together. I also enjoy being out in the wilderness and photography.

I have been a resident of Sussex county all my life. Before joining the Sales team here at First State I spent 29 years in the poultry industry. I live in Millsboro with my wife Melanie and son Taylor. My favorite hobbies would be working on my two classic cars and taking them to shows! My name is Ron Thomas. I began selling cars in March 2003 after retiring from the Delaware State Police with over 25 years of service. I graduated in 1971 from Sussex Central and have an Associates Degree from DTCC in Criminal Justice. I am married to the former Bonnie Bant for over 46 years and have one child Brett. Brett is married to Kimberly Bailey and has two children Kasyn and Kaytin. I am a member of Franklin Lodge #12, American Legion Post 8 for over 45 years am past Post Commander, and have coached Little League. I currently enjoy golf and spending time with the grandchildren.
